Jack Dorsey announced Dessa, a full-duplex speech model from Block's AI research lab. It listens and talks at the same time, and Block says it runs locally on a MacBook Pro.

I think this is the future of how small businesses will talk to their customers, and work with their own tools. Block is building the entire stack for commerce on Main Street: AI kiosks, agentic payment rails, and voice models that run on edge devices.
