Elaya's landing page skill looked cool, so I tried it

Elaya open-sourced the design skill behind her landing pages. I used it to build pages for three of my projects.

Elaya designed a run of landing pages over two months with Higgsfield, Claude and Cursor, plus a design skill of her own. She open-sourced it as ai-design-skills.

It looks cool and I wanted to try it.

The skill is strict in a good way. One typeface, Geist or a short list of others. Font sizes only from Tailwind's scale, spacing from a fixed table. A grey gradient on the headline is the only gradient allowed, and backgrounds stay flat. Motion decelerates on one curve. Every page gets a big tagline whose words light up one at a time as you scroll.

The striking visuals in her video come from Higgsfield, not the skill. Without art, my first try with her rules looked plain. So I generated three engravings for my own projects and built the top of a landing page around each, strictly to her rules. Here are the three.

An engraving of a developer sitting on a hilltop at sunset, laptop closed, the grass at their feet in calendar squares

Did you touch grass this year?

Type a GitHub username. It counts the days you didn't commit and deals you one of eight cards.

An engraving of a red dog trotting along a dotted path above the bay at sunset, past a hydrant and a bone

Take the dog for a walk

A tiny 3D runner on a dotted path. Tap to start, tap to jump, hold to jump higher.

An engraving of a brain drawn as a star chart of dots and lines, floating over a river valley at dusk

Any graph, drawn as a brain

Turn ideas, tools or people into a 3D brain you can turn, hover and walk, one link at a time.
